Course: Communication Design
September 2018
In this project we were supposed to create a typographic poster where the meaning of the words were expressed visually solely through text. The main criteria was to use lyrics from a song or a poem and communicate the message that it had.
I chose a song called “Meghan’s Theme” by Adom Snow which has a slow rhythm to it and has a deep meaning revolving around a women comparing herself to water. How at first she feels insig- nificant just like a drop of water but then the next line she feels empowered and compares herself to the strong ocean tides.
The type is made to mimic water waves and the color is used to match the color of the ocean. I’ve highlighted the words “Today” and “Tomorrow” to show the transition in her feelings. The lyrics in the lighter blue colored area are where she feels the worst, but the lyrics in the darker blue colored is where she feels the most powerful.
